1UZ Swapped Mk3 Supra! What Could Have Been an Epic Game changer In 90s Imports!

Today, I have owned one of my dream cars for nearly 12 years, and put 20,000 overall miles on it. I have completed all kinds of upgrades on it, like converting from an automatic to an R154 manual transmission, swapping the entire interior, and building a performance 7MGTE for extra pep. However, inspired by the Aussies and Kiwis, I have always wanted to do a “what if” Toyota made a V8 powered Supra. So, I set to work on 1UZ swapping the Supra, and I was not disappointed with the results. The 1UZ swap places the engine weight behind the front wheels and drops the car’s mass a couple hundred pounds. Other weight reduction modifications, such as an ABS delete, single piece all aluminum driveshaft, aluminum race fly wheel, and stage two clutch, dropped the mass under 3000 lbs, and completely redefined the characteristics of the car, all while maintaining the stock appearance inside and out. As the pony car era came to an end, most of the automotive manufacturers switched to economy minded sedans. However, as if a last breath of defiance, the third Gen Camaro, Fox Body Mustang, and the A70 Supra embody everything I loved from that era. I know it is not a muscle car titan like a Road Runner or a 60s Camaro, or a European super car like Porsche or Ferrari, but the A70 Supra had more than proven itself on the Australian and New Zealand roads and rally courses, and the body styling still makes a statement 30 years later.
