Maitri Youth Convention Brings Community Together to Address Youth Mental Health and Well-Being On Sunday, February 8th, community youth gathered at the Cupertino Public Library for the Maitri Youth Convention: Youth and Mental Health, a dynamic, youth-led event focused on emotional well-being and mental health awareness. The well-attended convention brought together local high school students, mental health professionals, community leaders, and families to openly address the challenges impacting young people’s emotional health. Through keynote addresses, Q&A sessions, open-mic talks, and peer-to-peer conversations, participants explored practical tools for emotional wellness, reducing stigma, and encouraging help-seeking behaviors. The convention was formally inaugurated by Cupertino Councilmember Sheila Mohan, marking a meaningful beginning to an afternoon dedicated to youth empowerment and emotional well-being.
