Subscribe for more Dota content:    / @tortedelini   or check it out LIVE:   / tortedelini   The BEST Carry Heroes in 7.39b Meta Dota 2 With the release of Patch 7.39, we’re seeing a shift away from popular carries like Nature’s Prophet, Morphling and Phantom Assassin and a revival of some classic carry heroes returning to form. With heroes like Terrorblade and Tiny going away, we’re seeing a lot of new AGI-based heroes making their entry as the best carries to play this patch. Let’s break it down. Juggernaut’s Blade Fury is back! It took a few years but thanks to patch 7.39, the ability is pretty much back to its early-game value for that classic laning combo of a slow or disable into Blade Fury kill! But, with the new damage values raised for Blade Fury, it seems the developers have forgotten about Juggernaut’s facet, Bladestorm, giving you crit damage when you Blade Fury, based on the level of your Blade Dance. So now we’re seeing some pretty incredible damage coming out of Juggernaut in the laning stage by level 3. They try to nerf Templar Assassin in 7.39 and… it didn’t work. Not for nothing, but the circumstances that make Templar Assassin so strong is more to do as a response to the map and general gameplay meta in the mid-game than anything else. In 7.39, she deals vastly less armor reduction with her first level in Meld, which you only grab a point in at level 1 and then max it last. So the nerf is a direct response to make her laning stage a bit less oppressive. 7.39 also reduced the silence of Aghs Shard minimum silence duration so no longer can TA just plop a quick trap and insta-silence her targets for a whole goddamn second. Now it’s much shorter and requires a bit of planning for the hero to shut down fleeing midlaners like Queen of Pain, Storm Spirit, etc. So with Templar Assassin being all the rage, let me introduce to you Ursa. A great response to Templar Assassin, due to Overpower popping her Refraction shield as well as the answer to Juggernaut, thanks to Enrage, especially with the Grudge Bearer facet, to straight-up tank against Omnislash. With Terrorblade, Morphling and Nature’s Prophet on their way out, Ursa shines even harder in this patch than ever before. He continues to shine on Offlaners like Dark Seer and Dawnbreaker because he can persistently lay down Fury Swipes and keep them out of the lane. What’s more is that Ursa shrugs off a lot of ganking heroes like Shadow Shaman, Ember Spirit, and Axe thanks to his dispels and debuff immunity such as Black King Bar, his Enrage ability, the Aghs Shard that gives him Earthshock a 9-second Dispel and if all else fails, Aghs Scepter too. With so many AGI heroes coming into the mix, Slark is still around as a fantastic mid-game hero that really shuts down rivaling carries like Templar Assassin and Ursa through outright out-damaging them or out maneuvering them to eventually take them down. His item build is pretty malleable, from Diffusal Blade and Aghs Scepter to Orchid or Mage Slayer depending on the enemy line-up and if Slark wants to survive like vs. Earthshaker or shut down like versus Ember Spirit. Silver Edge is also a great option for the Break, but you still want Aghs Scepter due to his Leeching Leash facet. With the popularity of AGI carries, Drow Ranger comes in to ignore all their natural armor with Marksmanship. That said, she doesn’t exactly stand up against heroes like Juggernaut, Ursa or Templar Assassin. This hero is more about the tanky offlaners you might be seeing like Axe, Wraith King and more. Heroes that you want to kite and maybe grab and Aghs Scepter down the road after you’ve finished building Hurricane Pike and Manta Style.
