Also featuring Gorlocs, Jinyu, and other relatives of the Murlocs. Also, now featuring Howitzer! Transcript: #1 According to Brann Bronzebeard, the gorlocs of Northrend originate from an unknown frog ancient. The murlocs then evolved from the gorlocs, infesting Azeroth's waters to this day. #2 The Jinyu of Pandaria, an offshoot of the murlocs, had a large society centered around kingdoms before Lei Shen and his Mogu destroyed it. Afterwards, in the time of the Pandaren Empire, at least one Jinyu dinasty came to rule Pandaria... until they were deceived by the monkey people. #3 In the RPG books, Nerglish, the murloc language, is the universal language for all the sea creatures on Azeroth, ranging from Makrura to Gilbins. A notable exception to this rule are the Naga, who speak a dialect of Darnassian named Nazja. #4 Jinyu society is based on castes, their members being chosen before they even hatch. The majority of Jinyu live as workers, building dams or other structures. Above them are the craftsmen, who start their training from the moment they hatch. At the top lie the warriors and the priests, who receive the best food and shelters. The most successful of priests can ascend to become elders or waterspeakers. It is a taboo for the Jinyu castes to intermingle. #5 When Thrall and his Horde sailed across the Great Sea to Kalimdor, they came across the Darkspear Tribe. After assisting them against a human colony, the trolls were captured by murlocs under the control of a Naga Sea Witch. The murloc high priest sacrificed the leader of the trolls, Sen'jin, before Thrall could rescue him, and subsequently attempted to destroy the Horde before it could escape the islands. Vol'jin, Sen'jin's son, remained on the island for another year along with some loyal followers, before deciding that the islands were doomed, at which point he rejoined the Horde in Durotar. #6 Unlike most other races on Azeroth, the Jinyu use water in their forges. Using the pressures and currents of the water, they have created ediffices of stone that defy Pandaren and Mogu constructs, and weapons and armor that are as hard as any forged steel. #7 According to Apothecary Renzithen in the Blood Elf town of Tranquililen, murlocs manage to retain their free will in undeath. Their spines are apparently an important component in a potential cure for the plague. You should probably follow me on twitter. @Teeironor
