How to grow PESTICIDE-FREE - Totally spray-free cannabis!!! Predatory and beneficial insects are the way!!! Ever since we switched our farm to being fully dedicated to working with beneficial insects for our integrated pest management, we have not sprayed anything on our plants - for years! Even when we did spray years ago, we always used 100% organic OMRI listed sprays such as neem oil, but it is such a relief not spraying anything at all! We currently introduce lacewing larvae (mainly for aphid control) and we also introduce cucumeris predatory mites into our garden for thrips and pest mite control. Eventually, as we build more diverse habitat in our garden area, we hope to encourage a lot more native predatory insects as well - we do have native lacewings in the garden already (aphid killing wasps too), and we get a lot of help from native ladybugs as well - but to be safe, we also introduce lacewings and cucumeris that we source from Beneficial Insectary. The trick is to stay ahead of the pests to not let them get a foot hold which can lead to infestations. Proactive not reactive! Also, landrace cannabis varieties tend to have a lot more natural pest resistance in their genetics compared to modern polyhybrids (most of the modern hype hybrid strains are over domesticated and have low pest, mold, and disease resistance).... with the combination of strong hardy landrace cannabis plants and a healthy population of lacewings and cucumeris, we are able to keep our garden pests under control, and totally spray and pesticide-free!! As cannabis medicine should be :)
