This has been a popular place for photography, picnics, beach walks, and even weddings. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a premier marine life rehabilitation, research, and education facility dedicated to the conservation of sea turtles. Established in 2007, the center offers comprehensive medical care to injured and sick sea turtles, aiming to rehabilitate and release them back into their natural habitats. It also conducts vital research on sea turtle health and ecology, contributing significantly to the broader understanding of marine conservation. Visitors can engage with interactive exhibits, observe live medical procedures in the treatment area, and participate in educational programs that raise awareness about the challenges sea turtles face and the importance of protecting these majestic creatures. We also visited the Historic District of Jekyll Island, including the Faith Chapel. Faith Chapel is a historic and charming nondenominational chapel built in 1904 to serve the island's exclusive Jekyll Island Club members. This quaint, Gothic-style structure is renowned for its stunning architectural details, including beautiful stained glass windows by Tiffany and Armstrong, which depict vibrant biblical scenes and add a touch of ethereal beauty to the chapel's serene interior. The chapel's wooden beams, intricately carved pews, and intimate atmosphere make it a popular venue for weddings and special events. Faith Chapel stands as a testament to the island's rich history, offering visitors a glimpse into the opulent past of the Gilded Age while providing a tranquil space for reflection and celebration. We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island and dined at Tortuga Jacks which featured a beach theme and live music.
