Hello dear patients. Today we are going to review the case of urethral lips adhesion. A young man came to us and about 2 weeks ago he had a casual sexual contact after visiting a club. This contact was vaginal and oral, and after that, in about 7-10 days, discharges started. These discharges were small, they were mucopurulent and the adhesion of urethral lips that you see on the picture, was observed. The patient struggled to open up these lips particularly in the morning. This happens due to adhesive pus, when there’s not a lot of pus, it gets dried and urethral lips are cemented by this pus. In such cases, first of all, these lips have to be opened and secondly, smears for inflammation and for flora have to be taken as well as smears for sexually transmitted infections and a culture test for bacteria. In this particular young man, leukocytes were found in about 30-40 within a visual field as well as sexually transmitted infections – Chlamydia, mycoplasma and gardnerella. So, this adhesion of lips was induced by these particular infections and they induced inflammation of genitourinary canal in the form of leukocytosis – anterior urethritis in this particular case. As a result of treatment, control analysis was taken in 3 weeks time and as a result, adhesion of urethral lips was not observed, it stopped in 3-4 days after the beginning of treatment, after the first instillation. Instillations usually induce a good resolution as in this case. All of these infections were negative and leukocytosis was 5-7, so it gradually came to normal after treatment.
