Visit www.konkankatta.in Devrukh is a town in the tehsil of Sangameshwar in the Ratnagiri district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a headquarters for the tehsil Sangmeshwar. It is part of the Konkan region. Devrukh has primarily agrarian society. Devrukh enjoys salubrious climate. Summers are warm and Winters are not very chilly. However every year Devrukh experiences heavy monsoon (400 cm to 500 cm rains every year). Rice, Cashew and Alphonso (Hapus) Mangoes are major crops in Devrukh. People & History Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj & Chatrapti Sambaji Maharaj are many times visited to this place. Shivaji Maharaj was visiteded to shri soljai temples many times. This is the shortest way from Raigad fort to Vishalgad fort via Konkan rout. Devrukh was the birthplace of social reformer Parvatibai Athavale. As well as birthplace of Mr. Shankar dhondsheth Sardal & his daughter vimal shankar sardal freedom fighter. Mr. Shankar Dhadsheth Sardal played important role in Bhudan-Chalval with vinoba Bhave. Mr. Shankar sardal converted LEELA VISHVABHAR kanadi Literature in Marathi. Tourism Devrukh has two important destinations near it. Marleshwar: Marleshwar, is an ancient Cave Shiva Temple, which is at distance of 17.4 km from Devrukh. Kedarling temple:The best place for visit is kedarling temple.This temple is the gramdevata of the village Katavli which is located 10km from deorukh. The Deity in all the above temples is Lord Shiva. Other Destinations- Soljai Temple - Soljai is the Gramdevata of this village. Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj was visiting this place whenever travelling from raigad fort to vishalgad fort.Many people from all over the india are visiting this temple.
