There’s just something about being broke in a new country...you’re in a strange land, you have nowhere to be, nowhere to go, and nothing in your wallet. Without money, you become reliant, and living off the kindness of the people of a place is the best way to mitigate everyone’s fears and bust the myths surrounding it. For as long as I can remember, whenever I mentioned my plan to backpack Lebanon one day, I'd be bombarded with the stereotypical complaint of "Oh, I heard Lebanon is expensive" or the good old "You can't have fun in Lebanon unless you spend a decent amount of money." Well, today we decided to prove this wrong and show you just how we got the best out of the Lebanese people and how we came to realise that Lebanese people are some of the most friendly and hospitable people we have ever met.
