‘Farha’, a Jordanian film that has just been added to the Netflix library, depicts Zionist militias killing or displacing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians during the Nakba. And in news surprising no one, this has caused outrage among supporters of Zionism – both in and outside of Israel. Directed by Darin J. Sallam, Farha highlights one of the countless tragedies faced by Palestinians during the creation of the state of Israel in 1948, otherwise known as the Nakba – Arabic for “Catastrophe”. The Nakba saw 750,000 Palestinians expelled from their homes and ethnically cleansed from their lands by Zionist militias in a campaign that included murder, rape, and death threats.
