The depot serviced from small arms to artilleries and vehicles. Conversions were made to some small arms to be more adaptable to the New Guinea environment. Restorations were also carried out by the depot to the captured Japanese arms and vehicles for intelligence purposes. Some innovative design were also developed at the depot, such as the “M15 special “. An unofficial designation to a M3 halftrack with a M1 40mm Bofors gun installed on its chassis instead of the standard M1A1 37mm gun. An opened turret with armor plates offered crew protection.
