#rave #music #theprodigy Hi Folks (Put Your Helmet On) Episode 5 of a collection of videos relating to my own personal experience with the Roland W30 Sampler Sequencer workstation from 1989. Kicking off this series is some special reconstruction treats for fans of The Early Prodigy (Liam Howlett) Experience tunes. So please be sure to check out part one Episode 1 & More • Roland W30 Hardcore Madness & Tech Info - ... and future episodes coming your way with more treats including some of my original W30 Hardcore Rave tunes. Like this One Techno Madness • Roland W30 ORIGINAL TUNE -Techno Madness E... On This Episode I Kick off with the Sequencer play of my W30 Reconstruction of JERICHO By The Prodigy, I Love the Raw energy of the original track, Liam Smashed so hence me doing this, My cover It is not perfect, there are some imperfections and differences but the overall timing and quality is okay so It's all a bit of fun really. Audio is recorded as is from the W30 into my desk with some compression & EQ-ing and small amount of reverb. I Hope you enjoy this. Liam probably wrote the tune on his W30 in no time and most likely used 2 of them to get higher quality samples. I have squeezed this whole project onto 1 floppy disc image, I could have doubled up with my other W30 but then it gets silly. I wanted to have fun and to show people what you can do with just 1 W30. Jericho was actually the 1st Tune I decided to cover solely on the W30, but I saved it until now as I wanted to start with Charly, and Everybody in The Place. As I say before I am not going for perfection, I could easily lay this down on a DAW but in all honesty doing so bores me, this is a side project to have some fun with 1 W30 exploring its limitations. I have no intention of being a prodigy covers band or trying to be like, I believe in doing your own thing, but this is a bit of fun, and will help inspire others to do more on their W30's As stated in previous vids I take no credit whatsoever or hold any claim to copyright over any of the covered music, any covered tracks will be flagged by sync licensing for copyright and if there was ever any royalties these would be automatically clawed back for the respectful holder. This is not my attempt at trying to be like, copy or better anyone I am only doing the covers as a fun personal challenge and for educational reasons in hope it will give other W30 users encouragement and inspiration to make great tunes on these machines. I and many others were inspired and blown away by what Liam Howlett created with his W30 setup and so this is honouring that process. With what I have done here and on a couple more surprise tunes to come is squeeze a lot more into the single W30 than he might have done with his tracks as the limitations prove what fits and does not, what I've done it does loose some quality on samples using mainly 15khz which otherwise would be higher resolution in comparison to his doubling up of samplers but I thought it would be fun to squeeze these covers onto single floppy disks or images, Being an original artist I am more interested in making my own material, I shall be sharing some of my original W30 tunes in up coming episodes. A few years ago I started a Project of Music & Art where I painted portraits of Artists who have inspired me and then created my own original music in their style, I did a Keith Flint Tribute called The Jilted Generator and used the W30 in some of these tracks. • The Jilted Generator or download it here https://jamiezarfas.bandcamp.com/albu...
