GL! 29 focuses on Designing your curriculum What are the principles underpinning curriculum design? How might we ensure coherence, continuity and progression? How can we integrate geographical skills? What resources are available to support schools with curriculum design? Some teachers design their own curriculum directly from the EYFS and National Curriculum documents. Some follow shared or published planning closely. Others may use a range of sources to build a curriculum that suits their class, age-phase, school or community needs. This session will include contributions from Paula Owens and Julia Tanner, award-winning independent geography consultants, and Helen Martin, chair of EYPPC and recently retired Headteacher of two rural schools. Wherever you are on your curriculum-making journey, we hope this session will offer lots to take away. Maybe you will develop something small... or change things more fundamentally to impact the learners and your school's practice! Join us as consider this in the light of the DfE Curriculum and Assessment Review. Get your geography in great shape! SPEAKERS: Dr Paula Owens, Independent Consultant Helen Martin, former Headteacher of Graffham CE Infant and Duncton CE Junior Schools, two rural schools in West Sussex With contributions from the GeogLive! team
