Born Esham Attica Smith on September 20, 1973 in Long Island, New York City, New York. He grew up in both New York and Seven Mile area of Detroit. During the school year, he lived with is mom, and visited his grandmother in the summer in New York. In high school, he played piano, guitar, and the trombone. Among his favorite hip hop and rock groups were Sugar Hill Gang, Run-D.M.C., Ozzy Osbourne and K.I.ϟ.ϟ. He was one of the earliest rappers from Detroit, MI, he released his first album in 1989 at the age of 16 years old, and has released a ton of studio albums. He started the whole Horrorcore sub-genre of rap, but he calls it “Acid Rap” and not Horrorcore. He uses a lot of heavy metal and rock style beats in his music. He started a hip hop group with his brother James called Natas (Satan spelled in reverse). He had a huge influence on Eminem and Insane Clown Poetry, as well as other groups such as Insane Poetry from California, or for any horrorcore rapper or group for that matter.
