While the identities of many imperial tomb occupants in the #Xixia mausoleum complex remain shrouded in mystery, the occupant of Mausoleum No. 7 has been conclusively identified. The fragmented stele unearthed at the site bears the inscription "Shou Ling" (Tomb of Longevity), matching the tomb name of Emperor Renzong (Li Renxiao) recorded in the History of Song: Records of the Xia State. In 1146, Renxiao posthumously honored Confucius with the unprecedented title “Emperor of Culture and Enlightenment” (Wenxuan Di), elevating the sage to a divine status in state ideology. The following year, he inaugurated the imperial examination system to recruit scholar-officials. His reign stands as a pinnacle of "governance through Confucianism" among China’s historical minority regimes.
