Housing market competition varies based on location, price range, and buyer demand rather than national trends alone. In this video, Brian Burke explains how competitive the market is right now in the Greater Hartford Connecticut area and what buyers and sellers should expect when navigating current conditions. ====== 📝 Check out our FULL BLOG on this video: https://burkemoves.com/blog/how-compe... ====== Many buyers and homeowners are asking how competitive the housing market is right now and whether they should expect bidding wars or negotiating opportunities. In this video, I explain what competition actually looks like in today’s market, why conditions vary by price range and neighborhood, and how local trends in the Greater Hartford area affect buyers and sellers. If you are considering buying or selling in towns like West Hartford, South Windsor, Glastonbury, Manchester, Vernon, Tolland, or Ellington, understanding how competition works can help you make better decisions and set realistic expectations. Competition in the housing market is not defined only by how fast homes sell. It also shows up in how many offers a property receives, how close offers are to the asking price, and the strength of contract terms. One of the biggest misconceptions is that the entire market is either competitive or slow at the same time. In reality, competition varies widely by location and price range. Entry level and mid range homes often see stronger demand, while higher priced homes or properties needing updates may experience less competition. Interest rates also influence competition. When rates rise, some buyers step back, which can reduce bidding pressure and create more negotiating room. When rates decline, buyer demand often increases quickly, which can lead to faster sales and multiple offers. Here in the Greater Hartford market, conditions have shifted away from the extreme competition seen several years ago. Homes are still selling, but buyers often have more time to evaluate options before making decisions. Multiple offers still occur in certain situations, but they are no longer the default across the entire market. ====== 00:00 How Competitive Is the Housing Market Right Now 00:18 Why Market Competition Varies by Price Range 01:05 Where Buyers Are Still Seeing Competition 01:40 Why Some Homes Are Slower to Sell 02:05 Advice for Buyers and Sellers 03:04 Final Thoughts ====== ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ 🏡 Moving to Connecticut or the Greater Hartford area?
