This building was originally planned to be an office building, but in the end, they decided that it should become a SOKOS Hotel next to the Kupittaa/Kuppis railway station though severely delayed when finally opened on the 1st of July, 2020. This is of course where the Turku Light Rail Line (To be constructed between 2024-29) from the biggest suburb of Varissuo via the Campus to the Hospital, Universities and city center to the Travel centre in-planning-progress and the other branch to the Harbour, will have a stop also. Please note that from 15.8.2022 for two years, the long-distance trains to Helsinki will have their temporary terminus in Kupittaa/Kuppis railway station as they are building the second track between Kupittaa and Turku main railway station to accomodate the local trains to be reintroruced in the Turku region in 2024 and better train services. Next to these two passenger elevators, there is a locked-off staff elevator, which has the same serial, but one number higher or one number lower.
