When to add Heat & Acid with Yarn Dyeing; Hot & Cold Dyeing for Different Effects

Just like you can decide when and where to add your dyes to the yarn, you can decide when and how to add acid and heat. There are many ways to do all of these techniques and different dyers will have different preferences. You can absolutely speckle onto cold yarn, but I do recommend having acid in the yarn before you add speckles if you want them to be sharp.
