“JUST THE BASICS” (Episode #3) The X-Files Collectible Card Game CCG | 1996 | Basic Tutorial | Basic Gameplay | Let’s Play | Learn How to Play | Playthrough | Dead CCGs | Mystery Games | Mulder & Scully ——————————————————————————— SUMMARY Alien Investigations presents a comprehensive tutorial on the Basic gameplay of The X-Files Collectible Game (CCG) with the help of returning guest, Special Agent David Pease of the Sequim field office in Washington. Learn the fundamentals of the game including pre-game prep, rules, rudimentary game mechanics, the seven phases that comprise each round of play, and (perhaps) a cool strategy or two to help you best your opponent in your next game. Created back in 1996 and distributed by USPC Games, The X-Files Collectible Card Game is a detective-style card game patterned partly from such games as Clue (deductive reasoning) and Guess Who? (process of elimination, ask questions). Individual card effects were derived from the show’s earliest seasons before the game went belly-up in early 1998. But like the elusive Truth, the game’s cult following is still Out There. Find it here on this channel! #XFilesCardGame #XFilesCCG #CardGameFun ——————————————————————————— SUMMARY: Alien Investigations makes another hop, skip, and a jump across the pond as Special Agent Stephen squares off once more with recurring Special Agent Guillaume from the France field office. Things are taken to the next level as these intrepid Agents utilize the augmented X-FILE POWER rules (SEE pages 43-45 of The X-Files Collectible Card Game's Advanced Rules & Procedures Manual). Agent Guillaume has previously bested Agent Stephen in two unrecorded games utilizing the POWER Rules. Will Agent Stephen fare any better in this third augmented matchup? Lots of Promo cards and seldom-used 101361 Bluffs appear—and, yes, even a devastating Combat card is played! In the always enlightening post-game chat, Stephen and Guillaume dissect the nuances of the “Stoner, Chick, and Dude” Bluff card.
