In 2011 the original Smorgasburg started in Brooklyn as a spin-off of the Brooklyn Flea Market. In a few short years the event grew to attracting an estimated 20,000-30,000 people per weekend. Smorgasburg expanded to Los Angeles in 2016, making it's home at ROW DTLA, an industrial complex and open-air mall located at 785 Bay St., Los Angeles, CA 90021 (near intersection of Bay and Alameda). The market is open every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no cost for admittance. Dozens of vendors (both food and crafts) are available to explore. Just pay for what you eat! As our friend Jay points out in the video, it's a great spot to sample a wide variety of different cuisines, with a lot of the vendors experimenting or testing out new concepts. If you like keeping up with food trends then this is a place to check out. There is ample parking available at the ROW DTLA parking structure, and you can get free parking for 2 hours (love this!).
