Stream: https://ffm.to/SOTArevamped To mark the second anniversary of the release of Resina’s critically acclaimed soundtrack for ‘Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York’ video game, Dalekie presents a reimagined, extended version of their joint effort, the most electronic track on the soundtrack. ‘State of the Anarchs’ was initially intended as an ambience in a club location that the main character Julia visits during her quest as a newly embraced vampire. Now, grittier and louder, it becomes a fully fledged track on its own and is ready to be played in an actual club. The thumping techno beat and hurried breakbeats meet additionally processed Resina’s ominous harmonies in the new mix, gaining some dance floor anthem qualities. This revamped version had been developed with Dalekie live shows in mind, incorporating this part of the game’s soundtrack in his 2021 sets. Resina is the alias of Karolina Rec, a composer and cellist based in Warsaw. In 2016, after signing with FatCat Records/130701, she released albums ‘Resina’ and ‘Traces’, and an EP with remixes of tracks from ‘Traces’ by Ben Frost, Abul Mogard, Lotic and Ian William Craig. Her latest album ‘Speechless’, which includes compositions for a 24-person choir, was released in November 2021. Resina builds her personal musical language by blurring the boundaries between seemingly different musical genres, playing with tension between the instinctive or even animalistic aspects of performance versus the electronic and amplified sound world. She also writes for film, theater and video games. The soundtrack for ‘Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York’ game was released by Coastline Northern Cuts in 2020 and received a Fryderyki (the most important Polish music award) nomination for the Album of the Year in Film, Theater and Illustrative Music category. Dalekie is the moniker of Marcin Szulc, electronic music and record producer. Focused on exploring the sound of modern bass music, free of genre boundaries, he is circling between club and abstract aesthetics. The distinctive abrasive sound of Dalekie is achieved by the deliberate use of mostly digital tools to their fullest extent possible - with or against their intended purpose - creating imaginative and immersive multi-layered soundscapes in the process. Most recently, Marcin is associated with Coastline Northern Cuts record label - Dalekie’s ‘Fragments of Fiction’ EP opened CNC’s catalog in 2018. He is also responsible for the sound of a few other artists’ releases on the label, i.e. producing the debut albums of wh0wh0 and Klawo, as well as Tropical Soldiers in Paradise’s recent two EPs. ‘Vampire: The Masquerade - Shadows of New York’ is a standalone expansion to its predecessor, ‘Coteries of New York’. Both games are set in the dark and mysterious universe of Vampire: The Masquerade, one of the most popular and respected tabletop RPG games in history. Shadows of New York, just as Coteries, is a narrative-rich interactive experience, which allows players to become a young vampire, exploring contemporary Big Apple - full of vampiric plots and schemes, struggle for power and survival within a complex set of rules and dependencies - trying to solve an unspeakable crime. They were both developed by the independent studio Draw Distance.
