This is a rare recoding of Ms Dynamite on Raw FM 90.00 from 1999 (she joins around 3:52 mins into the set), with DJ Whiz Kid and DJ Juvenile going back to back. The showcase was fully loaded with MCs: Twozer & Peck, Reflex, Violator, Blaze, Para D and Flex. The set was several years before Ms Dynamites’ success with DJ Sticky, in 2001, with her hit track: Booo! Sticky Feat. Ms Dynamite (FFRR and Public Demand Records). This was a fairly young Ms Dynamite, then only aged 18 she rocked the airwaves and could hold up an epic performance amongst half a dozen or more male MCs in the studio. She could rap, sing and would bust some Ragga flows which would get the people hyped. She went to release another anthem, Ramp - Ms. Dynamite + Menta ‎(Biggerbeats Records, 2002), and things were moving from strength to strength. The year 2002 was an extremely productive year for Ms Dynamite, she went to release the following tracks: Ms. Dynamite ‎– Put Him Out (2002), Ms. Dynamite ‎– Dy-Na-Mi-Tee (2002) which all feature on her debut Hip Hop album Ms. Dynamite ‎– A Little Deeper (2002), followed by the release of Judgment Day (2005) The spotlight was beginning to shine on her and her career. As a channel we felt it was necessary to share this upload particularly to promote a rare part of music history, especially when you look you at the Ms Dynamite of yesteryear compared the accomplished socially and politically astute artist of today, there logically has been a massive musical progression since that time. Ms Dynamite was also honoured an MBE by the Queen, which she accepted with mixed feelings.The channel recently discovered Akala (Rapper/Poet/Writer/Political Commentator) was in fact her younger brother. Ms Dynamite has managed to bridge her talents across a wide range of musical genres from Hip Hop, RnB, Ragga, UK Garage, Funky House, Dubstep and Jungle/Drum & Bass. She still making music and has featured on tracks with the likes: Dj Zinc feat. Ms Dynamite - Wile Out, Katy B — Lights On ft. Ms. Dynamite, Yasmin ft Shy FX & Ms Dynamite 'Light Up The World' , Ms Dynamite & Shy FX - Cloud 9, DJ Zinc feat. Dynamite MC – Creeper, Clipz - Again (ft. Ms. Dynamite, Ms. Banks & Jaykae). Our second focus is on Raw FM unlike its sister station Raw Mission FM, it had a limited listener base to North West London, that's not say it didn’t reach other parts of London. In 1999, they were transmitting far but there was a lot of competition on the dial and they were a relatively new station compared to the other established ones. The difference was they were following the trend of the Heartless Crew, So Solid, and the Pay As You Cartel. They were interesting times for UK Garage. Most of the old guard particularly the four to the floor connoisseurs weren’t happy with the musical shift to 2 Step and the change the Garage sound was undergoing. MCing was changing, it was adopting the Jungle style of nonstop spitting from start to finish. You can also hear a lot of US Hip Hop influences in many of the MCs lyrics, with flows and verses so similar to DMX and other US Rappers. Out to those of you that remember The Professionals, The Assassins, The Executives, SLK Crew and many others that later went on to form the Hype Squad in 2001/2002. Shout out to Bionic Bossman for making this happen and all the Raw FM management. Out to all the London FM pirates of the past. Although they aren’t about now their contribution to the British music industry and to the London music scene has been immense.
