Lake Perućac is one of the best kept secrets of Europe. It is located in western Serbia and it is a natural gem despite its artificial origin. It was created in 1966 and occupies a natural bend of the Drina river, which encircles the Tara mountain, between towns of Višegrad and Bajina Bašta.
