Newfoundland Salmon Fishing pt 2

Out for another evening with good friends practicing a tradition for many living in Newfoundland and Labrador. This tradition once put many meals on our table, now it puts one. Gone forever is a way of life. But as I walk, fish and stand in these waters it connects me to my pass and I feel the presence of those who are in the Spirit World now who taught me how to fish for these mighty Atlantic Salmon. I meant to do some voice-overs to explain some of the clips you'll see in this video but to quickly hit the upload button. I try to get the salmon in as quick as possible and always try to handle as lease as possible to help prevent infection in the fish caused by the protective slim and scales that are always removed when handling and reviving a salmon. But I'm only allowed to tag one salmon this year in these rivers so I want a 60-63 cm long fish. These little one in the low to mid 50's are only about 3 to 3 1/2 pounds. I know I can a 5+ pounder for the BBQ. Plus I'm helping a friend get reconnected to salmon fishing.
