This time I tackle the movie-tie in to Sony's rebooted franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man. When annonced in 2011-2012, I went to GameStop to preorder the game. I was excited! New open world Spider-Man?! About damn time! Was that preorder worth it? OTHER THOUGHTS: Going back and editing this review together and playing the game more, I noticed a lot of things. One in particular is that this game is pretty buggy. Like, really buggy. Reflecting back on games like Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time and seeing this game after those two really raises an eyebrow for me. In those games, the animation was fluid and quick! The voice direction was great and the visuals were pretty damn good. Everything here gets shoved down the drain when compared to those two games. It just baffles me. It seems like a downgrade in quality. I ran into a lot of bugs during my playthrough. One bug in particular that I didn't touch up on in the review was that there was a mission where I was suppose to go to the bank and do the Black Cat mission. When I got to the bank I saw the cops there with their cars n' guns n' whatnot. Seemed normal. The problem was, I couldn't get into the bank. See, you're suppose to go to the top and enter through an air vent. The game didn't want me too. The music stopped, there was no activity on the map, sound effects were cutting, it was just all kinda freaky. I had to find some random snipers in the city to kill me so I could actually activate the mission. Other bugs include just, broken enemy placement, swinging under the city, this that n' this.
