My Dream Memory (Oscar Levant, Sidney Clare) - Played by Smith Ballew And His Orchestra Vocal chorus by Smith Ballew Recorded by The Plaza Music Company / Banner Records, New York, 23 September, 1929 This Issue: Australian Broadcast De Luxe Record No. W.593 (Original Issue: American Banner 6544) Here labelled as "The Roxy Dance Orchestra" or on Banner as "Buddy Blue and His Texans" Matrix: 9037-3 "My Dream Memory" featured in the 1929 RKO musical "Street Girl" that starred Betty Compson and Jack Oakie. "Street Girl" was the first film actually produced by RKO Radio Productions Inc. This recording was released originally by Banner, Pathe and Perfect and found it's way to American Domino and further releases in Australia and the English Imperial label. This one is an average pressing! Recorded and processed from an original vintage 78 record by myself.
