Beanos was the largest secondhand record store in Europe, housing over a million and a half memories that shaped a generation. It was a kitch monument to popular culture based in the unlikely setting of central Croydon. This programme was filmed at the dawn of the millennium and aired late on a Sunday night (in the early hours of Monday morning) on Channel 4, as part of their long-running programme strand entitled, 'The Other Side'. I have split it into two separate parts so that you don't have to watch the ads in between. Side 2 (pardon the pun) can be found here: • Vinyl Demand - Side 2 (16th October 2000) The programme features David Lashmar (Managing Director of Beanos), Melvin Hall (Casablanca Collector), David Brown (John Barry Collector), Ray Bolton (Collector and Beanos Staff), Mike Mastrangelo (Collector and Beanos Staff), Charmaine Bourton (Cliff Richard Collector). Wandering around in the background are other Beanos staff, including Keith O'Keefe, Jimmy Plates, Jim Sigee and Tony Batchelor.
