In 1969 CCM released a very popular EM arcade driving game called Speedway. It was far superior to nearly all prior driving games, as it did not use a small manakin car on a rotating map drum. Instead it was actually much like a video game. It was so popular that many other companies like Sega, Kasco and even Chicago Coin itself duplicated the game. Released in 1969, CCM made this game in several different variations, until about 1974 (last incarnation was the 1974 CCM Motorcycle game.) CCM also released Drive Master (pre-dates Speedway, kind of a crappy version in comparison), 1970/1971 Speed King and Mark3, along with Speedway Model A/Speedway Model B, and 1970 CCM Motorcycle (basically the same game, but with a motorcycle theme.) In 1974 a newer CCM Motorcycle was released using an electronic sound board, which was the last incarnation of this technology. In this video we show how to incorporate an MP3 player to give updated sounds (much like the 1974 CCM Motorcycle game.) We also compare the CCM Speedway and CCM Motorcycle games (showing both), and their similarities/differences. We are using an inexpensive MP3 player available at https://www.amazon.com/DY-SV17F-Audio... and more info (including the sound file) can be found at https://pinrepair.com/arcade/cspeed.htm Also check out the Ann Arbor pinball museum VFW if you would like to play the 1969 CCM Speedway game!
