The benefits of this approach are that my kids play with their toys intentionally and for a longer time. They can't dump and run with a bin because it just houses one toy. Then they get to clean it up! Before minimalism, they would dump bins and we'd have 50 toys all over the house. Toy organization used to include cube shelving, bin after bin of hidden toy clutter. We'd spend more time cleaning up toys than actually playing with toys.
