From the Youngstown Boys 30 for 30. In the first overtime of the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, Miami Hurricanes lead Ohio State 24-17, the Buckeyes need a touchdown to stay alive and force a second OT. On 4th & 3, Craig Krenzel's pass to Chris Gamble in the endzone is broken up by Miami DB Glenn Sharpe, a few seconds later a flag is thrown for pass interference giving Ohio State first & goal and a second chance which they would capitalize on and tie the game and eventually win 31-24 in double overtime. Many would agree this is a controversial call, as an Ohio State fan I think due to their being contact with the receiver while the ball was in the air was enough to draw a penalty (which could of been holding or PI). However due to how late the flag was thrown and circumstance of the game I can understand why this call upsets Miami fans (or anyone who isn't an OSU fan). Regardless, after watching the play in real time, in my opinion, there was more than enough contact to draw a penalty.
