I break down two of my favorite riffs from the song “Perhaps Everything, Perhaps Nothing” that are both based on the same rhythmic expression of 7. I wanted to not only show viewers how to play it, but how to count it. I demonstrate how you can use the same counting method, of breaking larger numbers into smaller numbers to develop your own odd groupings. I also use the breakdown of the two ideas as a platform to show how easy it is to write other ideas based on the same rhythm and how instead of being redundant, they can often flow naturally in the same song.
