~~ OPEN ME~~ QUICK THING Hi! I'm sure all of you have heard by now of the injustices occurring in the United States, and the protests and riots that have followed. I am a white human being, and with that comes privilege that others are not given. So, I want to use this to make the voices of our siblings of colour heard. I support Black Lives Matter. I am very vocally agreeing with ACAB. All lives cannot matter until they truly do, not just in theory. As well, it is pride month, meaning that it is a time for the LGBTQ+ community to celebrate and stand strong against those that try to silence us. Remember that we would not have pride as we know it today if it weren't for trans women of colour rioting against police brutality. If you are LGBTQ+ and do not support BLM, you are fighting against your own history. There are many resources out there to educate yourselves if you are not familiar with the history and losses of black lives. The long-awaited reaction video to ‪@ThomasSanders‬ latest episode of SAnders Sides has arrived! I've been struggling to edit this video because of one little line in Thomas's end monologue that just tipped me over an edge. I've been dealing with the passing of my grandmother on December 29th really poorly. She hadn't been at home for so long, it sort of doesn't feel like it's real. It's as if she's still an hour's drive away and I can go say hello to her. But I can't. And everyone says that grieving happens in many forms, and you never know when you're going to be set off by something. I've decided that I'm keeping that footage in, mostly uncut, because a reaction video isn't truly a "reaction video" if you don't show how things make you feel. It's a very vulnerable feeling, sharing this with the world basically, but I believe that social media and one's life on those platforms should not just be the best of you and your life. It's a toxic mentality for others because they will compare their normal to your best, but also it's unfair to the creator, who has to hide away the struggles they face because being seen as positive and productive is the expectation laid out for them.
