/ 145592592311030 Free-form improv and free-from catering, SHINDIG present a bouquet of experimentalism, noise, and visual arts, celebrating the visual (and audio) talents of new artist Max K Weaver. Half installation, half music, all awesome. --- CJ Boyd, bass man extraordinaire, comes to ply his loop-based wares again after blowing us all away earlier in the year. Currently relapsing from his perma-tour detox, CJ spends most of his time travelling around Europe & the US pursuing his own musical vision, which "uses bass, voice, and loops in order to try and stop time... Oceans of sound become naked, lonely melodies become something not yet determined." He also has a cracking beard. http://www.cjboyd.com/ Tom Adams, recently described as "ambient totty" by an unnamed source, will be debuting (?) his new audio-visual set live in the basement. A list of projects as long as your arm, Tom has been singer, guitarist, processor and producer, and tonight will be performing some of his own ambient-classical compositions live. If you're a reviewer, you'll probably want to use the word 'ethereal' at some point. / aswefallintostatic Musician, artist and student protest icon Max K Weaver will be performing and exhibiting tonight. Beat-boxing, blues harp and loop pedal seem to be his tools for music - ink and pen his tools for art. Tonight launches a month-long presence in the Cafe, renowned for celebrating the best in community music and art. / maxkweaver Ypsmael is an experimental electronic musician, using a wide variety of pedals to process ambient sounds into spontaneous live music. Sets are often influenced by the particular mood in the room, the overall set and setting of the performance, or the flavour of personal encounters during the day. Sometimes it's one tiny sound in the beginning that sets the tone for what follows; anything from delicately shifting particles to a controlled sonic explosion. This unrehearsed and largely unplanned approach yields a result that is deliberately unformed until the moment of performance. http://ypsmael.com/
