The Difficult Stoma: How to Manage and Create a Safe and Functional Stoma in Challenging Circumstances PART 4 Description: Every general surgeon has had to manage or create either ileostomy or colostomy under less than ideal circumstances. In these times we wish we had better resources, more experience, or ideas we have heard of on which we may rely. Hearing from individuals with experience on how to create the best stoma in patients with difficult anatomy or morbid obesity, for example, could be beneficial to many general surgeons, as would hearing about approaches to other difficult stomas that are high output or difficult to pouch, and the patient is not a reoperative candidate. This session features experts discussing challenging situations they have managed successfully.
