Walking Tour:    • Walking Tour   The Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, also known as "The Aussies," have returned to the Gold Coast, Queensland, in 2025. This prestigious nine-day event, running from March 29th to April 6th, is the pinnacle of surf lifesaving competition in Australia. Hosted by the North Kirra and Tugun Surf Life Saving Clubs, it brings together over 7,000 members from 314 surf clubs across the nation and even international competitors.   The Aussies encompass a wide array of events, catering to all age groups from nippers (12-13 year olds) through to masters (30+ years). The competition kicks off with the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Nipper and Youth Championships on March 29th and 30th. Spectators can witness thrilling competitions in traditional lifesaving skills like rescue and resuscitation, surf boats, and belt swimming, alongside modern surf sports such as ironman/woman racing, board riding, surf ski paddling, and beach sprints. The event also includes the Champion Lifesaver competition, testing physical, lifesaving, first aid, and knowledge skills.   Beyond the competition, The Aussies is a celebration of the surf lifesaving community spirit and the dedication of volunteers who work to keep Australia's beaches safe.
