After years of innovation, fine tuning and development, iPaddock unveiled their world leading 24m (80 foot) Alpha Disc rear fold seeder, custom mounted to a 24,500L Simplicity Aircart on Camso tracks, on their "Halcyon Downs" properties in Esperance, Western Australia in May 2020. With 187.5mm (7.4") row spacings, mounted on a single frame, with hydraulic parallel downforce lift units, iPaddock Alphadisc24 sows 128 rows at 14 km/hr, covering in excess of 30 Hectares (75 acres) per hour, effortlessly and in all conditions. This is the compilation of iPaddock founder Mic Fels' dreams of designing and building the ideal seeding module for high acreage broadacre farming, which started life as the iPaddock Alpha Disc 1.0, and has now matured into the iPaddock Alpha Disc 2.0 hydraulic parallel precision sowing modules. Uniquely for a disc seeder, the iPaddock Alpha Disc creates well formed furrows, and shifts dry soil and pre emergent chemicals safely to the inter row, much like a traditional tine machine can, while easily slicing through heavy stubble loads. This results in the ability to chase deep moisture, using conventional weed control chemistry, all the while precision placing the seed smoothly onto the moist soil band for consistent seed depth and establishment. Even more uniquely, iPaddock's patented Alpha Disc has been designed for pure simplicity, aimed at no in-season maintenance with minimal components, and using premium long life agri-hubs for the rotating discs and press wheels. iPaddock Alpha Disc units are available from ipaddock.com.au/alphadisc, and enquiries for assembled 9m, 12m, 18m and 24m machines are welcome.
