We had to wait half an hour in the "penalty box" at the end of the runway as we waited for a slot to be fit into the fly into DFW. Penalty box is just my way of saying holding pad... DFW was dealing with air traffic controller shortages due to the shutdown. And, this was fairly early in the shutdown, so things were going to get a lot worse.
