This video shows Epyx first iteration of Winter Games, released in 1985 for 8 bit systems and all disciplines in full length. The Commodore 64 version stood out for top notch local multiplayer in 7 different competitions with up to 8 players, each selecting their own country. Epyx Games series were highly successful, making this a huge box office hit for the company. In my opinion the gameplay of Winter Games is the best of any series, despite having ice skating twice - Skiing was ready a year later and was implemented in World Games in 1986. All Epyx titles of the games series were having a very good quality until 1987. The chase for World Records were another motivating factor to make this title a longtime evergreen hit in our youth.
