And I'll echo what he has to say about the Fabrique Nationale Herstal 509 and its derivatives. The FN 509 released in 2018 9mm only as the quick death of the 40 S&W was written on the wall. The 509 was immediately well received buy the community and it has the same quality as all the products from FN USA. Reliable, robust and some of the best ergonomics to date. But there was one thing that was almost universally maligned. The trigger. FNH has had a long lineage of excellent firearms like the Hi-Power, the FN MAG, and Minimi (known to many of us as the M-240 and M-249 respectively) and the SCAR and P90. All of which I have shot and all of which never had a trigger that could be described and anything but adequate. The 509 follows that tradition and the trigger was heavy, using a hingeded safety mechanism that added a crunchy feel to it and a pull weight that went up to as much as 7.5 lbs. The trigger was the unpolished facet on the near flawless diamond. FN listened and the 509LS Edge was born. Jumping up to a 5 inch barrel and adding lightening cuts on the slide, a magazine well and a distinctive grey finish made with graphite anodizing that is smooth to the touch does have a gritty feeling on the metal of the magazine. The recoil is light and the inherent accuracy of the system is stellar if you can manage the trigger. Who ever gets this one should definitely through the Apex trigger in it. Over all when compared to more competition designed guns from companies like CZ, H&K, Glock, Shadow Systems, Beretta, Canik and Sig Sauer the LS Edge holds it's own with it's suite of upgrades. The Bushnell RXM-300 red dot optic was a huge surprise with how good it was. The window in the reddot is maybe the biggest on the market and the dot was bright and glass was clear enough that I never noticed it. This optic is slept on and deserves more love.
