Purple Makeover for 34027 'Taw Valley' - Severn Valley Railway - 16/04/22

What has quickly become one of the hottest and most debated topics within railway preservation this year, Bulleid West Country 34027 'Taw Valley' is outshopped in a striking Purple livery, to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee year. The loco was put onto public display in her new livery for the first time over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, with the Bulleid awaiting re-naming as 'Elizabeth II'. Meanwhile, final preparations were underway for the railway's upcoming Spring Steam Gala, featuring 4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley'' and Urie S15 506. We also take a look at GBRf liveried 50049 'Defiance' and BR Class 17 Clayton D8568 running Easter services along the line, as well as a visit to The Engine Shed at Highley, with numerous locomotives on display.
