4K3D Gopro3 Black YouTube Test (3840x2160 half SBS Version, yt3d)

4K, 3D videos were shot on Twin GoPro3 Black at hyper 100 cm base and edited as half SBS format (1920x2160x2) in a Red R3D sequence (custom 3840x2160, 15 fps) on Premiere CS5.5. 4K hSBS (1920x2160x2) was exported as f4v file with CODEC of MainConcept H264 at Hi Profile, level 5.1, VBR 1pass 40 Mbps (work flow not far from optimized yet) . YouTube accepted 3840x2160 file upload, but heavily compressed to about 3Mbps, less than 10% of the original bitrate ! When yt3d is enabled, "original" resolution choice disappears from the resolution choice and the maximum resolution choice is limited to 1080P, which means yt3d is not supported in YouTube 4K at present unfortunately. When yt3d is disabled, max. resolution becomes 3840x2160 at "original" choice which is same as the uploaded file . By using 3DTV (full HD resolution) function, you can view 4K half SBS (1920x2160x2) in 3D, which is x2 of TV resolution. With 4K 3DTV viewer may see at half of its 4K resolution. I tried longer versions and low bit rate clips for uploading to You Tube, however most of them are failed in the You Tube processing stage. In this particular 4K3D clip there is some decoding error at the lower part of the frame. However the rest has very good resolution as expected. Many things are remained to be optimized in the 4K yt3d editing work flow, PC playback (many players crash !), YouTube processing at present. Long way to go for 4K3D ! Anyway this is all of my first trial.
