Here he tastes the Cornish Pinot Noir. Felton Road lies in the Central Otago sub-region of Bannockburn. It is one of the most highly respected producers of Pinot Noir in New Zealand and, arguably, the New World. The estate comprises four vineyards on warm, north-facing slopes: the original Elms Vineyard, the MacMuir Vineyard, Calvert and the Cornish Point Vineyard. The Elms was first planted in 1992 and this is where the 'Block' series wines come from. Felton Road harvests entirely by hand, and follows a minimal intervention ethos in the winery, with gravity-fed systems, wild yeasts and no fining or filtering of the red wines prior to bottling.
