Hi, everyone. I'm Evangeline right here at etrailer. If you're looking to carry around some cargo on your roof, like a long canoe or a kayak, or maybe you just need some extra cargo space because you have a tonneau cover or your truck bed's already full, well, today we're taking a look at this roof rack system right here on our 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Our specific roof rack here today is the Rhino-Rack roof rack with the sports bars. Let's go take a look. This kit consists of three different components. First, we have our sports bars and these are gonna be 59 inches long, super rugged, very useful, very versatile for carrying all kinds of cargo. Then you have your base towers and these are gonna be the Rhino-Rack towers. And then your third component is gonna be the custom fit kit. So notice how you have these rubber pads that fit along the grooves of your truck, and then you have these hooks that fit right into the door. So if you get everything kitted properly, then you know that it will be a good kit for your vehicle that works well, but also looks good. That's why it's also really important to use our fit guide here at etrailer, put your year, make and model and then also the style of your truck. And then that will help you sort through all the different options that we have confirmed are a fit for your truck. With these 59-inch bars, you have plenty of room for all types of accessories and you have a little bit of overhang. So overhang is measured from the tower to right there at the end cap. Here in the back, we have 3 1/2 inches of that overhang, and you can clamp things to the end just to make it a little easier to reach, bring your accessories a little bit closer. You can also take use of the top channel of your sports bar if you wanna channel-mount things instead. And that way, you don't have to maneuver around these channels or these towers. This is designed to go on a very specific spot on your roof though, and that's gonna be called your crossbar spread. The distance from one crossbar to the other. Our measurement here is gonna be 27 inches and 9/16th inch, basically 27 1/2 inches. That's gonna be a really good measurement for most accessories. But double-check your roof baskets, some roof boxes, even ski and snowboard carriers. Sometimes they require very specific crossbar spread number. And you can also find those numbers here on our site if you check out our different roof-mounted accessories. Well, let's talk about height. There's two measurements I usually measure for. The first is, how much space is there underneath those bars Well, it depends on where you measure, but right here I have around 3 1/4 inches and that's plenty of clearance for most types of clamps. So if you have those that strap around or even clamp around, you are set in most situations. Next up though is, how much height does this add to the roof And right here, I have about 4 1/2 inches. So this is where if you have, let's say, skis with extra tall bindings, you make sure you're not scratching up your roof with those bindings. If you do find you don't have enough clearance, well, check out our ski and snowboard carriers that give you some extra height. And with this being a taller truck, you also have to think about garage door clearance. And finally, with this being a truck, if you have a ladder rack and you want the height of your ladder rack to match the height of your truck roof rack, that measurement will help you get everything else lined up. A Rhino-Rack roof rack is one of the most popular roof racks for the Silverado, mainly because of its design. It is straightforward, it looks good, but also is designed to hold up a lot of weight. Now, you will be limited by your actual truck's roof weight capacity. So double-check that whenever you load things up onto your roof, no matter what type of brand of crossbar you do have. The sports bar is gonna be one of my favorites. I think it is one of the beefiest and sturdiest bars that Rhino-Rack has to offer. But you also have to keep in mind that the Rhino-Rack bar for camper shells for the Silverado is very popular too.
