Contact a police scanner expert now: Call 737.777.9876 Email zip@zipscanners.com Chat now https://www.ZipScanners.com #PoweringHandheldPoliceScanner #PoliceScannerRadio _____________________________________________________________ hey guys it's Nixon again from zip scanners where we make scanning easy with free shipping no taxes and slice times technical support from experts like me today what I wanted to talk about is powering your handheld scanners we've been giving this question a lot about the preferred method I want to show you how I do it and we're going to use the TRX-1 as an example today these handheld scanners typically do not come with batteries and so I hope you're purchasing these double-a rechargeable batteries from us and I'm going to show you the best way if you're at home or in the office to power these things only time I use these batteries is when I take this scanner outside the house if I'm taking it out to the cabin or just driving around and I want to listen that's when the batteries come into play otherwise my recommended preferred method is to just use the AC adapter cord that comes with this and power it with the AC or powering this through your laptop or computer so let's go ahead and do that for you first thing I'll do is take this off just to show you this is where the batteries would go right here on the side is where the USB port is I'll take this plug it in and now I can take this end and either plug it in here stick this through an outlet any old wall all the way will do and this thing will turn right up off but for today's example I'm just going to use my laptop instead so I'll take this and get in and right away you'll notice the power is on and this works just fine I just don't see a reason to put the batteries in this scanner if I'm just going to be at home when you put the batteries inside the scanner it will charge to my point being though is why I do that it's going to start slowly but surely taking the juice out of these batteries and that just happens to all batteries so my thinking is why even put them in there only time you need them when you're taking this scanner or these handheld scanners with you somewhere outside the house most of the time everyone is just using these at home or in the office if you're doing that use the AC we have here or just power the scanner by plugging it into your laptop or computer and it will power just fine leave it where it is start scanning and you'll start listening to anything going on near you alright I hope this was helpful and answered this very common question that people have been asking now if you like this video please click the like button below and be sure to check us out at zip scanners comm for all of your scanner needs we provide fantastic customer service free shipping programming for your scanner and the helpful Learning Center with more videos just like these thanks again for watching
