Note: My microphone for the soundtest with the metal bottom is a bit closer to the keyboard compared to the one with the acrylic bottom, hence the metallic twang is slightly less noticeable, compared to real life. It has definitely been a while and damn, I really miss all of you. I have been using the idobao ID67 for quite a while now and I must say that it is a rather Misunderstood and underrated board. Full soundtest: • ID67 with Acrylic Bottom sound test (VS Al... Why? Because of 3 main reasons: 1) The prototype stained its reputation. With the prototype having north facing PCB, and so does Drop's version of it, most people are deterred from trying out this kit. Not a lot of people actually know that the versions of the ID67 after the Drop variant, features south facing PCB. while Hipyo tech's video states that the final version will most likely feature south facing PCB, the images on Idobao's website does not indicate south or north facing, which was going to create some confusion amongst people. Should this kit have south facing PCB from the start, I'm sure that it would be more commonly seen in videos or have a spot on someone's desk. 2) Integrated Plate. Iet me put this out of the way: If you are coming from a typical tray mount mechanical keyboard like any GK Series board, or even the Tofu60/65 or the KBDFans KBD75, you are not going to feel much, if not, any, difference in stiffness. People who mentioned that Integrated plate is bad, most likely just prefers a softer typing experience, or probably have not really tried it yet. For me, I prefer a stiffer typing experience, especially since I am using tactiles, although they are not the strongest tactiles out there. Give it a try and see how it feels, because I from what I experienced, the stiffness issue is blown out of proportion. 3) Overshadowed by the ID80. The ID80 is very popular amongst the budget keyboard scene, since there are very few 75% keyboards that are hotswappable, readily available and fully programmable, and features a great build quality. More budget keyboard hobbyist most probably took notice of it, in comparision to GMMK Pro or the Q1, since they are around the same price range. This probably overshadows the ID67, despite the fact that it comes with all the foams that you'll ever need or want in a keyboard, out of the box. Perhaps, it was also due to how 65% keyboards are more common to find in this price range compared to 75% keyboards. All in all, this keyboard did tick all the boxes that I want in a keyboard. The sound profile is quiet and clacky, it is fully programmable, it has screw-in stabilizers support, and it is super sturdy without feeling too heavy. If build quality and a dense sound profile are some of your priorities for a budget keyboard, this is really recommended. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, but does your backspace sound this deep? : • Yes, but does your backspace sound this de...
