"Let me tell you a story. A fairytale told in Abysseos Arma. Long ago, there lived a princess. She was a gardener, and passed her days tending to a garden from far, far away. She loved it with all her heart, and as time wore on, she would swear that the garden had grown to love her too. But one day the queen, seeing in her daughter a lost child seeking solace in the shadows, sought to cull the garden. She swung with all her might, and yet the only thing her blade met was the bloodied hands of her princess, who defied her at every step. The queen thought her daughter obsessed, lost to the leaves, thus no longer a worthy heir. Yet even as she turned her blade on the princess proper, she was unable to strike deep enough. The princess wept and bled, but never could she be silenced, and soon it was all the queen could to do lock the princess away alongside her sacred garden. Both were buried, fathomlessly deep below the surface of Gaia's Earth, such that they could not stain the royals' name any longer. Despite the worlds of metal and stone between herself and her people, the princess was not alone. The garden heard her cries, fed her its fruits, shielded her from beasts, and cured her of disease. The princess felt no sorrow as she was cradled in the shadows by trees of golden wings, and she felt no desire to break free from the deep. There she stayed, entwined with her garden, enraptured by the perfect dark that sought to nurture her when nothing else could. As the end of the world of man came and went. As cities turned to ash turned to soil. As societies rose and fell, as wars were won and lost, as gods were born and killed. And yet, for as boundless as the might of the garden, one day the princess fell asleep for the very last time. The princess may never wake, but some say the garden never slept. That still it stands vigil for a life so terribly long gone.
