HERE COMES the RAIN! Triacastela, Sarria, Portomarín Our seventh week on the Camino 700km walked 100km to Santiago October 17-21, 2022 AFTER the BIG PUSH to get up to O’Cebreiro on October 16, 2022 (Watch that video here: The CAMINO'S BEAUTIFUL UP'S and DOWNS, Ponferrada to O’Cebreiro • The Camino's Beautiful Ups and Downs, Ponf... ) and finding no accommodations available to us there, we chose to take a taxi to the next town, Triacastela. We spent two nights there, one night in Sarria, and one night in Portomarín. The physical demands of the Camino were taking a toll on us, but we only had a few more days of walking to get to Santiago. The TIPS below helped us get there! CAMINO PROVISIONS TIPS from this section? At this point we had walked about 700km/434mi in seven weeks. We needed to shorten our distances and rest more often to keep walking and avoid overuse injuries. We took care to find places to stay where we could feel safe and comfortable, get sleep, and eat real meals to keep our strength up. Watch that video here: • CAMINO Rain Solutions BEFORE GETTING to SARRIA, decide whether you want to earn a compostela, because when you are in Sarria you will need to begin getting two stamps in your pilgrim credenciál every day as you walk the final 100km. PILGRIM NUMBERS INCREASE a lot beginning in Sarria, even in mid-October. CAMINO JOKE: The region of Galicia, particularly the city of Santiago is very rainy. This has earned it a funny nick name: “Santi-agua” PLAN YOUR CAMINO Playlist: • Plan Your Camino CAMINO FALL 2022 Playlist: • Camino Fall 2022 www.CaminoProvisions.com
