In this vlog I talk about breaking the habit of calorie counting. I went on holiday to Barcelona for 3 days and I didn’t calorie count. If, like me, you have calorie counted for a LONG time, it is very difficult to try and not do it. It is scary – the amount of food being unknown, the thoughts of being well over your normal calories, terrified that you will gain weight. But you have to remember that the anxiety and uncomfortable feelings do not last forever. In five years time, you aren’t going to remember the number of calories you had on a certain day. You are going to remember the good memories, the things you have done, time spent with family and friends. SO I was determined that this holiday, I was just going to eat and go with the flow. For breakfast I had a plate of scrambled eggs. For lunch we had crystal bread (and carbohydrate in the day time is a bit of a fear food of mine) and once I also had Iberian ham with it. For dinner I had either a meat or fish dish of a menu. It can be so hard to break the habit of calorie counting but it is possible. I’m going to try and continue to keep a bit of not calorie counting into my usual routine. Life is meant to be lived, not spent calorie counting. It is a challenge but we can do it!
