Direct To Film vs Sublimation Heat Transfers: What To Use When

What is the difference between sublimation heat transfer and direct to film (DTF) transfers? In this video we'll be breaking down the similarities and differences to find the best heat transfer solution for your next project! While sublimation transfers and DTF transfers share the same great full color printing capabilities, one may be better suited for your next project, and it all may come down to the fabric type your customer is requesting or the color of the garment! Sublimation Transfers are typically used on 100% polyester (or polyester dominant 65%+ fabrics) where direct to film transfers are perfect for almost any fabric t-shirts are made of: Cotton, polyester, blends, spandex and even Lycra! DTF transfers are printed with a white background, allowing for vibrant colors on a variety of fabric colors, lights or darks, where sublimation transfers are only printed with CYMK inks (cyan, yellow, magenta and black) which only will be visible on white or light colored fabrics.
