Rojas is a relatively new company, although Noel Rojas was instrumental in the development of a number of popular boutique cigars such as Ezra Zion, Guayacan and Nomad. The Breakfast Taco came out in 2023 with three blends - Maduro, Connecticut and Sumatra. All are 4-1/2" x 44 gauge. In fact, Noel Rojas bills himself as the "King of Small Gauge Cigars," and the largest company offering is 50 gauge. Those 50 gauge cigars are the "Street Taco" line, which also feature a Sumatra and Connecticut. The Breakfast Taco cigars have excellent construction, burn, ease of lighting and draw. Those qualities are not always found in Perfecto shaped cigars, especially smaller ones like these. Kudos to Rojas Cigars for construction on the Breakfast Tacos. Flavor overall is a bit on the spicy side between all three blends. Not bold per se but some underlying spice. Flavor is actually a bit reminiscent of a taco - maybe that's the power of suggestion from the name but I found a chili spiciness and meatiness to the body and taste. My favorite of the three is the Sumatra blend, it is pretty close to the Fuente Hemingway Short Story with some spice, but also a bit of orange sweetness. The Maduro (a San Andres wrapper) was also very good, a bit on the bold side at a high medium-full. The San Andres earthiness complemented the chili spice and meatiness very nicely. The Connecticut was good, what I refer to in the video as "Connecticut PLUS," with a little spice kick similar to the Southern Draw Rose of Sharon. At about $7 retail per stick ($5.50 if you pop for a bundle of 30) these 25-30 minute smokes pack a lot of flavor and enjoyment into a small stick. Distribution is a bit spotty on them, but if you can fund these cigars they are worth a try.
